He died insane, raving that "they" were coming thru the walls for him. When the mourners left the room to allow the Coroner to examine the body, a terrible scream was heard, and neither the body of Mr. Binghamton nor the Coroner were ever seen again.
There were curious marks on the walls, as if something wet had forced itself thru the wood and wallpaper.
Those who saw the marks stated later at the inquest that they had a "vague, manlike shape, but the arms were
too long."
