Frederick Artemus Johnston in 1928. This photo was taken when he was 19. By his 22nd birthday he had developed his Bio-Ray Effect and gone on to become the respected physician and man-about-town everyone knew and loved. He died in 1981, when his machine failed. |

![]() The Kemper Sisters were well known for their performances of the Spring Calling at the sea-side. This photo was taken in May of 1948, just moments before several large tentacles dragged them screaming into the ocean. All felt that this was a fitting end for them, and since the entire dance that year was filmed, it has been done again in alternate years with spectacular success. |

![]() The May Day Bonfire of 1903 will be long remembered in Arkham. Built that year by the Pickering family, it burned with a steady flame all night and until noon the next day. Mrs. Pickering was not seen again in Arkham, and Mr. Pickering gave it out that she had "gone to her relatives in Georgia." |
![]() Johnathan Thaddeus Hane grandfather of Sam Hane Sr., was a clergyman of the Arkham Reformed Church of H*****. His sermons were much enjoyed by the members of the church, and his later joining with the Temple of Dagon was the cause of much astonishment. |
![]() Harold Frither Jr. met an untimely end one afternoon on the banks of the Miskatonic River when he attempted to ride one of the Children. Immediately after this photograph was taken, he was carried into the river and never seen again. |
![]() James Teasdale discovered a curious skull when digging in his back yard in 1967. It still has many scientists in total disarray. It is currently being studied at Miskatonic University. |

Cynthia Trout on a field trip to the Arkham Graveyard found the grave of her brother. Both his heads were intact. She had them bronzed, and now uses them as paperweights. |

James Whystle and Harold P. Grassbite found that the old skull of Mayor Thermowhistle had a bit of life left in it. The bite turned septic, and Mr. Grassbite died raving about invisible spiders. |

Jenny Grassbite, Harold Grassbite's daughter, at age 17. Her collection of fly wings was famous in Miskatonic County, and won many prizes at the Miskatonic County Fair. She later married Joseph Q. Arbuthnot III (of the Maine Arbuthnots), and went with him to Ant Breath, Oklahoma, where they were killed and eaten by a wandering tribe of unknown origin. |
