Campus Crusade for Cthulhu: IT found ME!
Famous Residents of Arkham
S. A. Thermowhistle

Samuel Adolphus Thermowhistle was the Mayor of Arkham from 1880 to 1902, when he disappeared. Despite his ancestry, and his love of raw fish at the most inopportune times, he served his commmunity well and faithfully, was a member of the OYS, and raised a family here.

His line seems to have died out in connection with the recent incident at the Temple of Dagon in Mexico City.

Mycroft Holmes

Mycroft Holmes, the younger brother of the celebrated Victorian period consulting detective, retired to Arkham following World War Two. This is the only known photograph of him.

He did much work with Sam Hane Sr. in the field of Esoteric Archaeology, and much of his writings and monographs on the subject are deposited at Miskatonic University.

When asked about his apparent longevity, he would simply laugh and say, "My brother was not as dim-witted as I thought. He learned much from observing bees."

Curiously, there is no death certificate on file for him in Arkham, and no cemetery seems to have recorded his burial.

High Priestess

Cora Ashley Williams served as High Priestess of Dagon in the late 1920's in Arkham. Her charity work and work with the Cthulhu Scouts for Girls made her a much respected figure in the city.

She recently passed away in her home on the outskirts of Arkham, and willed her entire estate to her cats.

The Arkham Municipal Band

The Arkham Municipal Band (formerly known as the Arkham City Band) is a regular favorite at gatherings, May Day parties, and other festivities.

In addition to the usual mazurkas, marches and polkas, they have an extensive repetoire of old Arkham favorites, such as "Cthulhu Loathes Me" and the famous "Dirge in E-minor."

You can listen to their rendition of the "Battle Hymn of the Cthulhu Scouts" here.

This photograph was made in 1928, before the accident.

Alvin T. Farrington-Jones emigrated to Arkham from Great Britain just before the Great War. He set himself up in business, owning and operating "Farrington's Department Store."

He served as a leader for the Cthulhu Scouts for many years, and his many charities were legendary in Arkham.

His primary avocation was tap-dancing.

Mrs. Annie F. Trinkle in her famous role as "The Sacrifice" with the Arkham Repertory Company in 1968.

Her final performance will be much remembered, especially when she found out that the last performance of the season was not a play.
