"When we got organized as a country and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans, it was assumed that the Americans who had that freedom would use it responsibly. ...However, now there's a lot of irresponsibility. And so a lot of people say there's too much freedom. When personal freedom's being abused, you have to move to limit it." -President Bill Clinton on MTV's Enough is Enough, 3/22/94

As long as the Democratic Party of the USA continues to support attacks on the Bill of Rights; as long as the Democratic Party of the USA continues to place partisan politics above the welfare of the nation, I will NOT vote for ANY Democrat for ANY office whatsoever, no matter how small or ineffectual the office may be.

"Political Correctness is not a matter of what is said; it is a matter of who says it."

Did you know that there are heat-seeking bullets? This is an appalling display of ignorance and prejudice.

"Suppose the Second amendment said 'A well-educated electorate being necessary for self-governance in a free state, the right of the people to keep and read books shall not be infringed.' Is there anyone who would suggest that means only registered voters have a right to read?" -- Robert Levy, professor at Georgetown University

If you favor gun control of any stripe, please read and attempt the following:

A well regulated Intelligentsia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and read Books, shall not be infringed.

Convince me, using only the text above,

  1. that this sentence does not guarantee an individual right, only a “collective” right; or
  2. that this sentence means that the only legitimate intelligentsia is the one controlled by government; or
  3. that this sentence allows the government to decide which books are safe and which are dangerous, and permits it to ban those it does not approve, and to dictate how all books under private ownership must be stored; or
  4. that this sentence permits the government to require the registration of all books and book owners.

Now there are a few rules here.

  1. You may not dismiss the authors of the sentence as being “dead white men” who “wore powdered wigs, so maybe they got a few other things wrong, too.” If you support gun control, then you subscribe to the belief that an object with no will can be good or evil, a decidedly odd thought. Address the text, not its authors.
  2. You may not bring up “wacko right-wing militia men” who support this and suggest that, because of them, it is bad. Hitler liked sugar, and so do you. Address the text, not its adherents.
  3. You may not dismiss it as “not applying to today,” unless you point out a clear term limit or expiration date within the text, or show another amendment that explicitly annulls this one. (Besides, you never know when what is useless today will be invaluable tomorrow.) Address the text, not your pipe dreams.

"How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of." -- Rep. Suzanna Gratia Hupp (Texas House of Representatives), leading concealed carry advocate after when in 1991, after leaving her gun in her car in order to comply with the law, Suzanna watched helplessly as both her parents, along with 21 others were gunned down in a mass shooting at a local restaurant.

Section 311 of US Code Title 10: "Militia: composition and classes" in its entirety: "(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard. (b) The classes of the militia are,(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and (2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia."

The right to own a gun is no more about "sporting purpose" than the right to free expression is about the "sports page."

-90% of all violent crimes in the U.S. do not involve firearms of any type. (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, 1998)

-Less than 1% of all firearms will ever be used in the commission of a crime. (FBI Uniform Crime Statistics, 1994)

-20% of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just six percent of the population-New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Washington, DC-and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns. (Dr. Gary Kleck, University of Florida using FBI Uniform Crime Statistics, 1997)

Inmates serving time in state prisons said they obtained their guns from the following sources in percentages:

  • Purchased from a retail store 8.3%
  • Purchased at a pawn shop 3.8%
  • Purchased at a flea market 1.0%
  • Purchased at a gun show 0.7%
  • Obtained from friends or family 39.6%
  • Obtained on the street/illegal source 39.2%

The percentage of inmates who bought their guns from a retail store fell from 21 percent in 1991, when the last such survey was conducted to 14 percent. At the same time the percentage who obtained their firearms from family or friends rose from 34 percent in 1991 to 40 percent.

This legislation, first introduced in the Senate by Senator John Chafee, would prohibit the transfer or possession of handguns and handgun ammunition, except in limited circumstances. Ten Good Reasons To Ban Guns!

Clinton's Attorney General Janet Reno said in 1991 when she was chief state prosecutor in Dade County, Florida: "The most effective means of fighting crime in the United States is to outlaw the possession of any type of firearm by the civilian populace."

When criminologists James D. Wright and Peter H. Rossi interviewed convicted felons in ten state correctional systems, they found that nearly sixty percent stated that they would not attack citizens that they suspected were armed. Guns save lives.

In 1982 the heads of household in Kennesaw, Georgia (except convicted criminals and those with religious objections) were required to own at least one gun and ammunition. That year incidents of burglary dropped 73% in Kennesaw. In 1991 and 1992 combined there were three robberies, and from the passing of the law until ten years later there were no murders.

Before Sarah Brady became head of Handgun Control, Inc. (now renamed "The Brady Campaign"), her predecessor, the late Nelson T. "Pete" Shields, explained the plan to The New Yorker in 1976:

"The first problem is to slow down the number of handguns being produced and sold in this country. The second problem is to get handguns registered. The final problem is to make possession of all handguns and all handgun ammunition — except for the military, police, licensed security guards, licensed sporting clubs, and licensed gun collectors — totally illegal." Gun Laws in the USA State-by-State

Note: this page does NOT give accurate readings on state firearms laws. For example, it states that Arizona requires a permit to carry, when the actuality is that the permit is only needed to carry concealed. DO NOT trust this information!

A Guide To State and Federal Firearms Laws

On The Right To Carry Concealed Weapons For Self Defense

"False is the idea of utility that sacrifices a thousand real advantages for one imaginary or trifling inconvenience; that would take fire from men because it burns, and water because one may drown in it; that has no remedy for evils except destruction. The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature ... laws not preventive but fearful of crimes." - Beccaria

Why do Americans tend to own firearms?

Why is this "right to bear arms" actually included in their Constitution?

Why do a minority of Americans violently and hatefully oppose this Constitutional right?

First of all, let's realize something: simply owning (and carrying) a firearm does not mean that the person who owns / carries it is going to use it on everyone they meet.

Gun "control" (it really means "abolishment") advocates are not afraid of the person who owns the gun. They are afraid of the gun itself. It is a phobia, plain and simple.

Some gun "control" advocates have much more sinister motives: they are engaged in a "power over" move .... they want political power (or more political power) and realize that private ownership of firearms places the firearms owner on an equal level with the police and military. If they can outlaw firearms, then the -real- political power lies with those who run the police / military, not with the private citizens.

And these kinds of "power over" games smell of a totalitarian mind-set. Call it Facism, call it Communism, call it Liberal Neo-Facist, call it what you will, it still stinks.

When the so-called "Saturday night specials" (a demonizing name for inexpensive handguns) were banned, the poor of American cities could no longer afford self-protection, and thus have come under the power of the police; they have become beholden to the good graces (and personal opinions) of their local law enforcement and must keep them happy or face abandonment to the crime lords and gangs ..... and since the gangs have the weapons, the gangs are now in effective control of many poor neighborhoods in the USA.

When the firearm is regarded as a -tool- and not as a magical emblem of power, those who own them tend to be careful and remain within the law. When firearms are regarded as a "macho" symbol; as a magical means of gaining manhood simply by owning one, they are inevitably misused.

And when TRAINING in firearms safety and proper (and safe) handling is part of the child's growing years, the children tend to become law-abiding, good citizens where it applies to firearms.

But whenever it is proposed that firearms safety training be offered in schools, the Liberals rise up en mass and squawk, against all evidence, that it will only contribute to the problem. Their opposition to these safety courses is better understood if you realize that it is to their advantage that firearms be misused. They WANT to ban firearms because they want MORE POWER, and every instance of a child, not trained in safety, who is killed or injured thru misuse of a firearm adds to their agenda.

Guns don't cause crime, and criminals will not obey firearms laws.

But the average citizen will, and THAT LEAVES THEM HELPLESS against the criminal.

Mr. Liberal, is that what you want? Do you want such a rise in crime, at a time when violent crime in the USA is DROPPING, that you can "point with alarm" and pass even more laws to control the citizens?

You see, the Bill of Rights, of which the Second Amendment is one, guarentees certain things to the citizens of the USA.

But they all are dependent, when push comes to shove, on the Second Amendment. Freedom of Religion, Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly .... ALL of them. With no Second Amendment, then the Bill of Rights effectively becomes null and void. There is no way to enforce it.

Mr. Liberal, is THAT what you are after?

I pray to God it is not so, but all history shows otherwise.

Satistics, Falsified Statistics and Damned Lies

"Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. [...] the right of the citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government and one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible."

"If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words"

The Anti-Gun Bogyman

You hear a lot, from the anti-gun camp, that 'we register cars, why not firearms?'

Well, folks, the answer is really simple: there is no serious attempt being mounted to outlaw cars. There is a serious attempt being made to outlaw the private possession of firearms.

The anti-gunners are comparing apples and oranges ....... as usual.

The Anti-Firearms Lobby has put out some propaganda lines about firearms and gun control.

Read the FACTS here.

The recent annual report on accident facts published by the National Safety Council in the Fall of 1994 reveals some very interesting data. The rate of accidental deaths for motor vehicles came to around 42,000, as opposed to 1,600 attributable to firearms. Thus, you are approximately 26 times more likely to die in a motor vehicle accident than you are from a firearms accident. You are twice as likely to die from "medical misadventure" than from a firearms accident. The firearms fatalities in 1903 came on at 3.1 per hundred thousand. The rate is now 0.6 per hundred thousand.

During self-defense hearings in 1994, Dr. Suzanne Gratia, one of the few survivors of the massacre at Luby's restaurant in Killeen, Texas, told this to anti-gun Congressman Charles Schumer (D-NY):

"The Second Amendment isn't about protecting ourselves against criminals. It's about all of US protecting ourselves from all of YOU."

Dr. Gratia, forbidden by Texas law to carry a firearm upon her person, had to watch her mother and father murdered in front of her eyes, knowing the whole time that her own handgun was out of reach in her car outside. She insists, and has done so since the shooting, that had she been allowed to carry her pistol that day, she could have easily shot down the gunman before he was able to carry out his murders. He had his back to her when he started shooting, and she would have had no difficulty in simply shooting him in the head. Had Dr. Gratia had her gun that day, 20 lives or more would probably have been saved. The plaintive wail "If it saves just one life, it's worth it" is often used by the anti-gun lobby in defense of new "gun control" measures. Well, if it's "worth it" to take away people's right to self defense to save one life, is it still "worth it" if it costs 20 lives?

"The Brady Bill is the minimum step Congress should take. We need much stricter gun control and eventually we should bar ownership of handguns except in a few cases." ~~ Clay, Democratic Representative, St. Louis Post Dispatch, May 8, 1993, pg. A1

Sarah Brady skirted gun laws in buying son's rifle
New York Daily News
March 22, 2002 08:15:00
(c) 2002, New York Daily News.

WASHINGTON - Gun-control advocate Sarah Brady bought her son a powerful rifle for Christmas in 2000 - and may have skirted Delaware state background-check requirements, the New York Daily News has learned.

Brady reveals in a new memoir that she bought James Brady Jr. a Remington .30-06, complete with scope and safety lock, at a Lewes, Del., gun shop.

"I can't describe how I felt when I picked up that rifle, loaded it into my little car and drove home," she writes. "It seemed so incredibly strange: Sarah Brady, of all people, packing heat."

Brady became a household name as a crusader for stricter gun-control laws after her husband, James, then the White House press secretary, was seriously wounded in a 1981 assassination attempt on then-President Ronald Reagan.

Brady writes in "A Good Fight" that the unnamed gun shop ran federal Brady Law and Delaware state background checks with great fanfare.

The book suggests that she did not have her son checked, as required by Delaware state law.

"(W)hen the owner called in the checks, it seemed to me he spoke unnecessarily loudly, repeating and spelling my name over and over on the phone," Brady writes.

Amy Stillwell, a spokeswoman for The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, said the federal Brady Law does not require background checks for intrafamily gun gifts.

Stillwell said she did not know whether her son was checked under the state law. The Delaware Department of Justice says the state does not have an exemption for family gifts.

"Scott is not a convicted felon, and he is not prohibited from owning a gun," Stillwell said. "Scott Brady could walk into a store and buy a - he is not a prohibited purchaser."

Delaware Justice Department spokeswoman Lori Sitler said the purchase could be illegal under state law if Brady did not also say who she was buying the gun for and submit his "name, rank and serial number" for a full check.

"You can't purchase a gun for someone else," Sitler said yesterday. "That would be a 'straw purchase.' You've got a problem right there."

Anti-gun control advocates were surprised to hear of Brady's foray into their world.

"We hope that it's innocuous and there's been no laws violated," said James Jay Baker, chief lobbyist for the National Rifle Association. "It's obviously interesting that Sarah would be purchasing firearms of any kind for anybody, given her championing of restrictive guns laws for everyone."

Gun Control History and how well it works

1873: British Natal requires registration of Zulu weapons, then confiscates them.
117 years of oppression, pogroms, and murder follow, by the British and then
White South Africans against Zulus and Bantus.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953,
about 20 million dissidents, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5
million Armenians, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, 13
million Jews and others were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million
political dissidents, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000
Mayan Indians, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979, 300,000
Christians, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one
million 'educated' people, were rounded up and exterminated.

Defenseless people rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century
because of gun control: 56 million.

2000 years ago . . . A Current Problem

The Imperial Chancellor, Kung-sun Hung, petitioned the Emperor, saying: "The people should not be allowed to possess bows or crossbows. When 10 bandits bend their crossbows to the full, a hundred officials dare not advance.... If the people are not permitted to possess bows or crossbows, then thieves and robbers will carry only short weapons, and when 2 groups carrying short weapons meet, the larger number will be victorious.... In your subject's humble opinion, it will be advantageous to forbid the people to carry bows or crossbows."

When the Emperor sent down this suggestion to his council for discussion an elder, Shou-wang, replied, saying:

"Your subject has heard that when the ancients made the 5 kinds of weapons, it was not for the purpose of killing each other, but to prevent tyranny and to punish evil. When people lived in peace, these weapons were used to control the fierce animals and to be prepared against emergencies. If there were military affairs, then these weapons were used to set up defense and to form battle arrays....

"Your subject has heard that the Sage Rulers brought the people together and practiced shooting to demonstrate instructions, and he has never heard any prohibition on bows or arrows.

"Furthermore, the cause for prohibition is that the bandits use them to attack and rob. The crime of attacking and robbing is subject to death; yet that they have not been stopped is because the great law- breakers do not care, indeed, to avoid severe punishment. Should the suggested prohibition be enforced, your subject fears that wicked persons will still carry weapons and the officials will not be able to stop them from carrying them, and that the good people who keep their weapons for self-defense will encounter the prohibition of the law. This will make the power of robbers exclusive and take away the means of defense from the people...."

When the petition was presented, the Son of Heaven questioned the Imperial Chancellor, Hung, who promptly withdrew his suggestion.

Did you know that there has been only ONE murder committed with a legally-owned machinegun in the United States? Did you know that? Now think about this: it was done by a police officer. [ Searcy v. City of Dayton, 38 F.3d 282 (6th Cir. 1994) ]

"Fact is, with all the rhetoric about the "Old West" being dead and there being "no need for personal protection" any more, at the height of the "Old West," in the 1870s and 1880s, you were SAFER on the streets of Western towns than on the streets of Chicago, New York, and other major metro areas ...... the crime rate there; the rate of SHOOTINGS, was astronomical in comparison. And the first city police force in the USA, New York's, was not even established until 1845."

  • 1. Abilene had exactly 7 homicides in all its years as a cattle town (1870-72).
  • 2. Ellsworth had exactly 6 homicides in all its years as a cattle town (1872-75).
  • 3. Wichita had exactly 4 homicides in all its years as a cattle town (1871-1876).
  • 4. Dodge City had exactly 15 homicides in all its years as a cattle town (1877-1885).
  • 5. Caldwell had exactly 13 homicides in all its years as a cattle town (1879-1885).

That's a total of 45 homicides for all the major cattle towns for the entire cowboy era. (source: The Cattle Towns, Robert Dykstra). You see more than 45 men killed in a single Hollywood movie.

It's my understanding that the number one cause of unnatural death in the 1880s and 1890s in urban areas was drunk driving or drunk riding - either people falling from horses because they were drunk, or people being run down by horses, wagons or carriages under the control of drunks. Certainly a far more common threat than such rare occurances as gunfights.

So we got Prohibition ..... and it didn't work. Can we LEARN from history, for a change?

Early accounts from those who attended the oral arguments on U.S. v. Emerson have revealed, with no uncertainty, how the Clinton-Gore cabal truly views our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The attorney representing the Clinton/Gore regime, William Mateja, reportedly said that the Second Amendment offers law-abiding U.S. citizens no protections against the government prohibiting them from owning any firearm.

Judge William Garwood, one of three judges on the panel that heard arguments, asked Mateja if it was the government's position that it could "take guns away from the public," and "restrict ownership of rifles, pistols and shotguns from all people," to which Mateja responded, "Yes."

Note: This is an exact replication of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster, and US Army General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Shooting? That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL REINWALD: Don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?"

GENERAL REINWALD: I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL REINWALD: Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went silent and the interview ended.

While this story is apparently "urban legend," the point remains the same ......

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed, a program costing the government more than $500 million dollars.

And now the results are in:

Figures over the previous 25 years show a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms (changed drastically in the past 12 months). There has been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly.

Australian politicians are on the spot and at a loss to explain how no improvement in "safety" has been observed after such monumental effort and expense was successfully expended in "ridding society of guns."

Bet you won't see this data on the evening news or hear your governor or members of the state Assembly disseminating this information. It's time to state it plainly: Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws only affect the law-abiding citizens.

Lesson From Great Britain

And now the results are in:

On January 13th, 2001 in Parliament the British government stated that last year there were 42 handgun homicides in the UK, the highest number in a decade. This is despite a total ban on all handgun ownership, except muzzle loaders, imposed in November 1997. Since the ban handgun crime of all types has increased 37% a year. So thousands were deprived of their sport and millions were spent in compensation for absolutely nothing.

Crime hits record after surge in muggings
By Stewart Tendler, Crime Correspondent
The Times

MUGGERS struck 190 times a day in London last year as street crime reached record levels, Scotland Yard disclosed yesterday. Street crime, including muggings, rose by 38 per cent; rapes rose by 14 per cent; murders rose from 171 to 190; burglaries rose by more than 5 per cent; and car crime by 4.8 per cent.

Detection rates fell from 15 per cent to 14 per cent. The clear-up rate for car crime was 4.5 per cent and only 8 per cent for street crime.

Crime figures for 2001-02 show that street crime, which includes personal robberies and snatches, rose to 69,987 offences recorded by police. In 2000-01, there were 50,607 muggings.

The latest figures on recorded crime show that the number of rapes reported to the police has risen from 4,045 in 1991 to 9,008 in 2001-02. In 1999, 7,700 rapes were recorded by police in England and Wales, yet the British Crime Survey estimates the number of victims at 61,000.

Somebody's handgun by the side of the road,
Somebody's pistol that defied the Penal Code.
Someone's favorite firearm that didn't bring him luck
When he ran onto the road and tried to rob an armored truck.
Yesterday it coughed and spat in a haze of smoke and lead
When its owner took exception to a word that someone said.
Now he's just six feet of raw red meat that's very, very dead.
It's nobody's handgun now*.

Now, you that love your children, be sure to teach them right --
That playing with stray firearms is neither safe nor bright,
And, if they spy a piece of heat the right-of-way adorning,
Don't pick it up; go call a cop -- or you may be in mourning.
If they take it home or out to play, that could be all she wrote:
You'll be lucky if the worst you see is a harshly worded note
Or a hole that did no more than ruin Billy's brand-new coat.
It's nobody's weapon
Not to play or wave or threaten
It's nobody's handgun now.

An Analysis of Gun Control in Japan

"No matter what you may think of Wayne LaPierre's extreme rhetoric, or what you might think about the motives of the NRA, every one of you needs to think very seriously about joining a gun rights group of some sort. This isn't about your personal safety, or even the safety of your family, it is about the safety and freedom of your children's children. All over the world populations are being disarmed and oppressed, from Rwanda to Kosovo, and the excuses for disarming them are always the same. The reason they are disarmed is because they are FRIGHTENED and SHAMED into it. "Protect the children!" and "Make our streets safer" are euphemisms for "Stop learning how to defend yourselves!" The results are always nasty and brutish. Guns may kill by thousands or tens of thousands, but genocide and ethic cleansing slaughter by the millions and tens of millions, and they can only be instituted effectively against a disarmed population."

"The pattern throughout history has always been the same - divide, disarm, destroy, deny."

"We are currently in the "divide" portion of the formula, which is why every single gun homicide in the country is shouted from the rooftops by every media outlet, while other crimes get little or no press coverage. When citizens successfully defend themselves or their families with firearms, it will rarely make it in small print onto the back of page C26. This type of emotional journalism is proving very effective in derailing our Bill of Rights. The first right to go has to be our right to defend ourselves, the others can follow very quickly thereafter."

"The organizations currently in this fight are the NRA, the Second Amendment Foundation, Gun Owners of America, and the CCRKBA. They all have web sites, and they all need funds to fight for your rights. If you are at all alarmed by current developments in registration, licensing, and confiscation of personal weapons, as well as the enormous propaganda campaign being mounted by our schools and government agencies towards this end, you really need to track down these organizations online and JOIN ONE OR ALL OF THEM. Put your money where your future is."

"We need people in this fight, because right now we are outnumbered, outfinanced, and catching it in the teeth. Apathy right now won't cut it for your grandchildren, if you give up their rights before they are even born."

"Speak out to your friends and acquaintances about this. Question authority, and ask the hard questions, such as - why did the UN deny arms to Kosovo, and then stand aside? Were they stoned, or just stupid? How can allowing the rape and murder of over 10,000 unarmed Kosovars be termed a "victory" in any sense of the word? Why did we have to bomb Belgrade, when we could have armed the Kosovars for a fraction of the cost, and allowed them to secure their own safety? Kosovars were not a minority in Kosovo, they outnumbered the Serbs in many cases by a hundred to one. Two million of them fled from an army less than sixty thousand strong, and were vulnerable along their entire route of flight to roving bands of armed Serbian militias, who preyed on them because they were helpless. The UN stood by and watched. So did you and I. The only Kosovar neighborhoods left unscathed at the end were those where the residents had armed themselves ILLEGALLY, and kept the Serbs out at gunpoint."

"Again, if you are concerned, join an organization and get into this fight. We need you!"

"If you aren't concerned, please feel free to report me to your nearest law enforcement agency as a radical right-wing extremist, of the knuckle-dragging gun toter variety. They'll be able to spot me by the big "HANDS OFF MY GUNS" bumper sticker on my truck. The one that keeps people from tailgating me on the freeway..."

Blessings to all!

Moral Values and the Warrior Ethic in Modern Society

The sword has defined the warrior for thousands of years. It has defined the power, ethics, duty, and self defense of a class of people that have shaped the face of civilization on this planet. The skill, exercise, and mental development, and discipline of the sword is unique. For the warrior the sword represents his honor and responsibility. The training for it's use strengthens his spirit. Any society that loses these warrior virtues is a poorer one, and will soon be a society who's freedoms are lost. The warrior has a prime directive to protect and defend. Every warrior is responsible for defending those who cannot defend themselves. When the warrior no longer takes this role, when he no longer has the courage or feels the moral responsibility, then that society will no longer be a society where honor and virtue are esteemed. Laws and government cannot replace this personal caring and commitment. In the absence of the warrior protector, the only way that a government can protect a society is to remove the freedom of the people...and the sons and daughters of lions become sheep.
